The Ogallala Octopi took Bethlehem pitcher Tony Díaz's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Kittie Park. The final score had Ogallala getting past the Angel Kitties, 6-5. Díaz went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 14. Reliever António Piña picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Keith Lee took the loss. Ogallala is now 13-11.
Had Chuk-yan Lau not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Lau hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Octopi.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Lau said.
