Thomas Inge did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Ogallala Octopi from losing, 5-4, to the Fort Knox Centennial at Nebraska Aquarium. Inge was 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Jeff Cook, now 1-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3 innings. Jorge Vásquez, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.

Fort Knox used a clutch hit from Gustavo Ibáñez to snatch the win. The pinch hitter belted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Centennial ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was huge.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Ibáñez said.

With the win, Fort Knox has a record of 16-5. Ogallala falls to 12-9.
