The Ogallala Octopi got a sterling performance from left fielder Thomas Inge, but the Amarillo Warheads still prevailed, 8-5. Inge was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The win takes Amarillo to 11-6.

Amarillo took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Wayne Schmidt hit a run-scoring single to make it 6-5, Warheads.

"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Schmidt told the Amarillo Chronicle. "You win just by scoring more runs."
