The timely hitting of Theo Belcher helped the Shady Side Zoomies down the Surprise Shockers, 8-5. Belcher was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Zoomies. The winner was Lou Dale in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Horst Snel took the loss. Cristo Bermúdez was credited with the save for Shady Side, his 4th of the season.

Belcher had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch slider from Horst Snel, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Zoomies a 8-5 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Belcher.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Shady Side skipper John Aston.

With the loss, Surprise sinks to 5-12.
