Layug Powers Octopi to 10-4 Win
The Germantown Uruguayans extended their losing streak with a loss to the Ogallala Octopi.

Ogallala center fielder Luzvimindo Layug had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Germantown Uruguayans, 10-4. The winning pitcher was Homer Mathis. His record is now 2-0. The right-hander went 5.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 9 hits for the Octopi.

With Ogallala leading 5-4 in the bottom of the fifth, Layug hit a run-scoring double off Germantown hurler Joey van der Beeck. It was the 3rd double of the season for Layug and put his team ahead, 6-4.

"We're our own worst enemy right now," said Germantown skipper Júlio Aguirre.

The loss puts Germantown at 1-8.
