6-1 Loss to Octopi Extends Germantown Losing Streak
|
The Ogallala Octopi beat the Germantown Uruguayans, 6-1. Ogallala pitcher and Henderson, Kentucky, native Sidney Jones led the way. The Octopi, now 5-2, have played some good baseball in the early going.
Javier Alejo, not known for his power, had a big at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth. That's when he connected on a slider from Kian Spargo for a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season put Ogallala in front, 5-1.
"If we play well, we'll win our share of games," said Alejo. "The only team that can beat us is us."
