Ubbe Kerklaan did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Amarillo Warheads from losing, 6-4, to the Shady Side Zoomies at Ballpark of Henderson. Kerklaan went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The winner in relief was Joshua Dodson. He is now 2-0. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. Cristo Bermúdez closed the door for Shady Side, picking up his 2nd save of the year.

Shady Side took a 6-4 lead on Arnie McKnight's 2nd double of the season. The 2-run double, which McKnight hit in the top of the seventh, left Amarillo pitcher Teijo Hagman shaking his head.

"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Shady Side manager John Aston.

Shady Side, now 5-0, is setting the league on fire so far.
