Lakers Sneak By Kingfishers, 2-1
|
The Lakers faced a stiff challenge from Pittsburgh pitcher Gabel Ambrosius, but persevered to claim a win at Pittsburgh Grounds. The final score was 2-1. Ambrosius went 6 innings and allowed no runs. Danny Kas collected his 7th save. The winning continues for Echo Park, with the latest making it 7 straight.
Echo Park used a clutch hit from Ronald Lithgoe to get the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Lakers ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Pittsburgh manager Tyler Johnson. "Obviously."
