Puffer Fish Take Down Otters, 7-1
|
The Plattsburgh Puffer Fish topped the Tulsa Otters, 7-1, in USPL Low A action at Ballpark of Hughesville. The standout performance belonged to Plattsburgh pitcher and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, native Tony Ayala. Ayala got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 4 hits and walked 4 over 7.2 innings. Ayala allowed 1 run. At 45-40, the Puffer Fish find themselves in 5th place in the Premier Low A.
Plattsburgh used the bat of John Harris to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Puffer Fish ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Ayala told the Plattsburgh Gazette.
