Hicksville pitcher Roberto Hernández did his part in helping his team beat the Crowley Cajuns, 5-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winning pitcher was Hernández, now 1-0. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. Hicksville is now 28-45, while Crowley is 47-26.
Hicksville used the bat of Franck Terwey to capture the win. The third baseman jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Hounds ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Hicksville manager Oliver Burrell. "Our pregame was pretty good."
