The Hicksville Hounds picked up a win at Hound Pound, knocking off the Redwood Rhinos, 5-4. Starting pitcher Wan-hua Yi played a key role in the triumph. Yi went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 10. His record improves to 5-7. The save was credited to Jason Ford, his 13th.

Hicksville took a 4-2 lead on Franck Terwey's 12th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Terwey hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Redwood pitcher Sergio Calderón shaking his head.

"Wan-hua was pounding the zone," said Hicksville manager Oliver Burrell.

The 9th-place Hounds improved to 25-41.
