Hounds Win at Plattsburgh, 4-1
|
The Hicksville Hounds faced a tough opponent in Plattsburgh pitcher Gabriel Hernández, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Plattsburgh Park by a final score of 4-1. Hernández went 5 innings and allowed no runs. César Romero picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-5. He struck out 4 in 5.2 innings. Jason Ford earned the save, his 8th.
Hicksville relied on the bat of Sidney Nuesink to get the win. The first baseman produced a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Hounds ahead, 3-1. For the game, Nuesink had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Nuesink. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."
