Tulsa Beats Greenport, 3-1

The Tulsa Otters and Greenport Harbor Whales played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
The Tulsa Otters got a magnificent performance from pitcher Dudley Boyd, who muffled the Greenport offense en route to a tight 3-1 Otters win at Ballpark of Hughesville. In 6.1 innings, Boyd surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. Ernest Goodman earned the save for Tulsa, his 3rd of the year.
The Harbor Whales had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Otters going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old second baseman Bryan Jacobs came to the plate. Jacobs hit a 2-run home run on a 1-1 curveball from Greenport hurler Jaime Delegorsa. It was Jacobs's 10th home run of the year.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Greenport manager Tony Romero.
The Harbor Whales have now dropped 5 straight.
