Seahawks Subdue Idaho Falls, 1-0
|
The Myrtle Beach Seahawks got a magnificent performance from pitcher Carlos Churen, who stifled the Idaho Falls offense en route to a 1-0 Seahawks win at Seahwaks Stadium. Churen picked up the win for Myrtle Beach, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 1-6. Idaho Falls's current losing streak has reached 4 games.
The Chukars had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Seahawks going into the bottom of the second inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old right fielder Daniel Major came to the plate. Major hit a solo home run on a 1-1 forkball from Idaho Falls hurler Chang-ho Kim. It was Major's 6th home run of the year.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Myrtle Beach manager Kyle Myers.
