Quebec City picked up a win at The Target, toppling the Beaumont Crossbeaus, 6-5. Pitcher Arthur Barr was one of the reasons the Baby Blues triumphed. Sosa Kiyomizu, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit. Quebec City goes to 13-5 with the win.
Quebec City used the timely hitting of Dong-hua Gan to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Baby Blues on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"If we keep winning the close games," Gan said, "we'll be in good shape at the end."
