Hawks Snatch Late Win
|
The Laredo Hawks picked up a win at The Shell, knocking off the Huntington Hermit Crabs, 4-2. Starting pitcher Jeff Vázquez was a big reason why. The loss makes Huntington 56-28.
The outcome might have been different for Laredo, had it not been for Ed Miller, the 23-year old catcher . Miller stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put Laredo up, 3-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We'll savor this win," Miller told the Laredo Times, "then get ready for the next game."
