Myrtle Beach starter Jorge Souza had a strong outing against the Laredo Hawks at Hawks Field. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. Lloyd Anderson earned his 1st save in 2 chances. Myrtle Beach's record now stands at 43-37, placing them 4th in the Premier A.

Myrtle Beach used the bat of José Rosário to get the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Seahawks ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.

In comments to the Myrtle Beach Citizen, Souza admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
