Smoky Mountain rode a decent outing from starter Ricardo Romo to victory over the Huntington Hermit Crabs. The final score was 3-2. Bruno Dares came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 5-1. Alex Thompson closed the door for Smoky Mountain, picking up his 22nd save of the year.

Lyndon Tipton drew 1 walk for Smoky Mountain. The 23-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Clifton Ladd. It was his 25th walk of the season.
