The Hicksville Hounds picked up a win at Hudsonville Park, knocking off the Hudsonville Flanderses, 5-4. Starting pitcher Wan-hua Yi played a key role in the triumph. Earning his 4th save for Hicksville was Jason Ford. Hicksville goes to 5-7.
Hicksville used the timely hitting of Sidney Nuesink to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Hounds ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Nuesink told the Hicksville Bulletin.
