Kingfishers Upend Bullets, 2-1
|
Pittsburgh pitcher Craig Culver did his part in helping his team beat the Baltimore Bullets, 2-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Elton Ray earned the save, his 6th, for the Kingfishers. Pittsburgh leads the Silver League by 2½ games.
Pittsburgh used the clutch hitting of Martín Flores to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Kingfishers ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"I like the roll we're on," said Pittsburgh manager Tyler Johnson.
