Crossbeaus Deal Hounds 4-3 Defeat

The Beaumont Crossbeaus beat the Hicksville Hounds, 4-3, at Hound Pound. Willie Norris, in particular, was impressive. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2. Beaumont reliever Matsuyo Maekawa was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Wan-hua Yi. Alfredo Ramos earned save number 1 this season.
Beaumont used the timely hitting of Ken Trowsdale to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Crossbeaus on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
After the game, Beaumont manager Steve Ferguson applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
The win gives Beaumont a record of 1-1.
