U-24 Deal Chukars 4-2 Setback
|
The Athletic Club KC U-24 topped the Idaho Falls Chukars, 4-2, in USPL Single A action at ACKC Youth Field. The standout performance belonged to Athletic Club KC pitcher and Willemstad, Curaçao, native Richie Lems. Lems, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 3 walks. Athletic Club KC is 9th in the Premier A with a record of 18-33.
Ernesto Hernández had a big run-scoring double for the U-24 in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Athletic Club KC leading 3-2 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Chang-ho Kim and swatted a double to center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the U-24 ahead, 4-2.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Lems.
