Arryns Win at Chicago, 5-2
|
Lake Erie and Chicago got after it at Ramblers Ballpark.
The Arryns grabbed a win, 5-2, at Ramblers Ballpark, overcoming a fine effort from Chicago pitcher Jasny Buzek. Buzek went 6.2 innings and allowed 3 runs. Lake Erie reliever Kuniaki Ishikawa picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jasny Buzek shouldered the loss. Emery Kehler locked down his 13th save.
Lake Erie used the timely hitting of Paul Brown to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Arryns on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Brown. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
With the win, the Arryns have a record of 22-28.
