Huntington Hot Streak Continues with 4-1 Win
|
The Huntington Hermit Crabs beat the Idaho Falls Chukars, 4-1, at The Shell. Huntington first baseman Ahti Riikonen had an outstanding performance. He was 1 for 2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Jorge García, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on 2 hits. Shuji Ando sewed up the save, his 12th.
Zach Stokes drove in one run for Huntington. The 24-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Karsten Lips. It was his 15th RBI of the season.
"We're playing like gangbusters right now," said Riikonen.
The Hermit Crabs, now 27-5, have won 8 in a row.
