Jeff Vázquez was superb against Smoky Mountain. The left-hander had a curveball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Hawks victory. The score was 5-1. The save went to Dan Alston, number 1 for him. Laredo is now 11-13. Smoky Mountain is 14-10.

Vázquez, the winner, is now 2-2. In 7.1 innings of work, he gave up 1 run on 3 hits, while collecting 11 Ks. He essentially shut down the Smoky Mountain offense.
