Seahawks Edge Past Hobeaus, 3-2
|
The Smoky Mountain Hobeaus got a superb performance from pitcher Cenek Stensel. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Myrtle Beach. The Seahawks won the game, 3-2. Stensel threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The Hobeaus drop to 6-7 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2050 season.
Myrtle Beach used the timely hitting of Ricardo Montalbán to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Seahawks ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
Montalbán called the triumph "a good team win."
