Hermit Crabs Need Extra Frames to Get Past Chukars
|
Huntington Hermit Crabs starter Al Moulin turned in a sterling performance against the Idaho Falls Chukars, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Huntington reliever Shuji Ando got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Frank Smith was tagged with the loss. John Owens picked up the save for Huntington, his 3rd of the year.
Huntington used the clutch hitting of Mike Baxter to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Hermit Crabs ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Winning breeds more winning, I guess," said Baxter.
It was the 12th win in 12 games this year for the defending champion Hermit Crabs, who are picking up where they left off.
