Thrilling Victory Pushes Blaze Win Streak to 11
|
The Kennesaw Jets got a sterling performance from pitcher Gerardo Pimentel, but the South Beach Blaze still prevailed, 4-2. Pimentel threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. Jeff Cook, now 2-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. The Jets have now dropped 7 straight.
South Beach took a 4-2 lead on Leon Wright's 10th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Wright hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Kennesaw pitcher Henry Boaden shaking his head.
"Winning breeds more winning, I guess," said Wright.
