Huntington Makes It 6 Straight with 1-0 Win
|
Anastagio Puggioni was in top form in a low-scoring contest between Huntington and Eugene. The Hermit Crabs left-hander helped his team beat the Vandals, 1-0. Clifton Ladd, now 1-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. With the win, Huntington elevates its record to 6-0.
Shan Gui tagged a home run off Sergio Carrasco in the bottom of the eighth. His solo blast put the Hermit Crabs on top, 1-0. In all, Gui had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"I had a good game plan," said Puggioni. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Mike Evans said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
