Castio Excels in 6-5 Myrtle Beach Win
|
Myrtle Beach shortstop Juan Castio had a 3-RBI game, which proved instrumental in his team beating the Athletic Club KC U-24, 6-5. Castio picked up 3 singles and 1 double in the ballgame. Myrtle Beach starter Héctor García was credited with the win after throwing 114 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. The loss has the U-24 at 5-1.
With Myrtle Beach leading 3-2 in the top of the fifth, Castio hit a 2-run single off Athletic Club KC hurler Robert O'Reilly. It was the 6th hit of the season for Castio and put his team ahead, 5-2.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Myrtle Beach manager Kyle Myers.
