|
Long Island rode a fine outing from starter Manuel Martínez to victory over the Vancouver Grey Wolves at Wolf Den in Vancouver. The final score was 3-2. Martínez, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 2 walks. John Ellis earned the save for Long Island, his 3rd.
The Lighthouse got a gift in the top of the third inning, when they were leading 2-0. With two out and a runner on 2nd, Robert Rodríguez reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run. It made the score 3-0, Long Island.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Martínez.
The win takes Long Island to 3-3.
