Tight Tilt Goes to Mangos, 4-3
|
Li-zhi Lai was outstanding against Yucca Valley. The right-hander had a forkball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Mangos 4-3 win. Kingston is now 14-12, while Yucca Valley is 16-10.
Had Cai-fei Sung not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Sung hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Mangos.
After the game, Kingston manager William Smith applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
