Jets Sneak By Yellows, 5-4
|
The Kennesaw Jets dealt the Yucca Valley Yellows a 5-4 loss at Jets Stadium. Bob Williams was the star on offense. He was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. The win gives the Jets a record of 1-20.
In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 4-4, pinch hitter Tony Avery won it for Kennesaw. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Avery hit a 1-0 fastball from Katsunosuki Hirayama for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 5-4 win.
"This place was rocking at the end," Avery said.
