The South Beach Blaze got a superb performance from pitcher Donald Scott, but the Yucca Valley Yellows still won the game, 4-2. Scott threw 5.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Yucca Valley reliever Katsunosuki Hirayama was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Jeff Floyd took the loss. The loss puts South Beach at 7-8.
Miguel Angel Ibáñez hit a 2-run triple off Jeff Floyd in the top of the seventh, which put the Yellows in front, 4-2. In addition to the triple, Ibáñez had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 3.
"I thought we played a nice game," Ibáñez told the Yucca Valley Daily. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
