Loss Spoils Fine Performance by Willard
|
The Levittown Blue Dragons overcame a good performance by Matlacha right fielder Erik Willard to knock off Matlacha, 6-5, at The Cave at Levittown. Willard went 3-3 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Levittown reliever Choon-mo Kim got the win, raising his record to 1-2. Derrek Smith was tagged with the loss. Alje Anraad earned the save for Levittown, his 5th.
Feitze Lammers, who is tied for 2nd in the SA in doubles with 5, contributed to the Levittown win with a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 RBI.
"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said Lammers.
At 9-4, the Blue Dragons have played well so far.
