The Delmarva Gallos picked up a win at Ballpark of Yucca Valley, knocking off the Yucca Valley Yellows, 3-2. Starting pitcher Eddie Daniel played a key role in the triumph. The win was credited to Jeff Filareta in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Joe Anthony took the loss. Ken Larson closed it out for his 1st save.
Delmarva used the clutch hitting of Kelvin van Zeist to snag the win. The designated hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Gallos ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Phil Baker.
Yucca Valley falls to 5-3.
