Gwinnett No Match for Walker
It wasn't easy but the Virginia Beach Whales made it look that way.

Starter Shawn Walker shut out the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Virginia Beach Whales cruised to victory, 8-0. Walker allowed only 3 hits and rang up 6 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.

"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."

Walker has gone 9-8 this season with an ERA of 3.40 and 116 strikeouts in 153.1 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .228 against him.
