The Richland Rails topped the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, 8-3, in USPL Double A action at Mariachi Band Shell. The standout performance belonged to Richland pitcher and Willemstad, Curaçao, native Elroy Mastenbroek. With the win, the Rails improved to 36-63.

Richland took a 7-3 lead on Clancy Dean's 10th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Dean hit in the top of the eighth, left Nuevo Mexico pitcher Dave Martin visibly frustrated.

"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Richland manager Tony Newell.
