Guinea Pigs Keep Streak Alive With 4-2 Win
|
The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs got a stellar performance from pitcher Ricardo Rodríguez, who handcuffed the Richland offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Rails Ballpark. Rodríguez picked up the win for Gwinnett, going 6 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 8-3. Shuji Ando recorded his 16th save for Gwinnett.
Gwinnett designated hitter Charles MacMurdo helped his team take an early lead. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he hit a sacrifice fly.
In comments to the Gwinnett News, MacMurdo insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
The winning continues for Gwinnett, with the latest making it 11 straight.
