The Gulf Coast Turbeaus had to overcome a good performance from Nuevo Mexico pitcher Torvald Bogermans to claim a 3-2 win at Mobile Home Park. Bogermans went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Alejandro Rodríguez converted his 1st save in 1 tries. Nuevo Mexico, at 38-53, has lost 4 straight.
Had Josh Thompson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Thompson hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Turbeaus.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Thompson told the Gulf Coast Chronicle.
