Cervantes hits 2 home runs to Power Mariachis Offense
Nuevo Mexico third baseman Rubén Cervantes had 5 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Virginia Beach Whales, 9-6. Nuevo Mexico reliever Nicholas Carey was the winner. His record is now 1-5. The losing pitcher was Liu-liang Lei. Francisco Pacheco was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 22 of 23 save opportunities.

Cervantes had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-2 fastball from Liu-liang Lei, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Mariachis a 8-5 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Cervantes.
