Guinea Pigs Earn 4-3 Win Versus Thunder Hawks
|
Gwinnett Guinea Pigs starter Ricardo Rodríguez pitched a strong game against the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks at Thunder Hawks Ballpark, leading the Guinea Pigs to victory, 4-3. François L'Écuyer, 3-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. With the victory, the Guinea Pigs record now stands at 56-31.
The outcome might have been different for Gwinnett, had it not been for Bob Hargrove, the 25-year old second baseman . Hargrove stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put Gwinnett up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"This team is on a mission," said Hargrove, who is one of the clubhouse leaders. "I like our focus."
