Ithaca Still On the Schneid After 4-3 Loss to Guinea Pigs

Gwinnett Guinea Pigs starter Tyrone Tolbert pitched a strong game against the Ithaca Fighting Imps at Experimental Stadium, leading the Guinea Pigs to victory, 4-3. Gwinnett pitcher Rex Davis got the win, upping his record to 5-4. Steve Ward got the loss. The second-place Guinea Pigs improved to 52-30.
The Guinea Pigs got a big boost from designated hitter Charles MacMurdo who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the eighth inning off Fighting Imps hurler Xin-fang Zha. It was his 43rd walk of the season and put Gwinnett on top, 4-3.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," MacMurdo told the Gwinnett News.
