A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis and Crescent City Krewe.
Nuevo Mexico picked up a win at Mariachi Band Shell, toppling the Crescent City Krewe, 6-1. Pitcher Cheng-qian Yue was one of the reasons the Mariachis triumphed. Nuevo Mexico, now 32-48, holds down 9th place in the Premier AA.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the seventh inning, but Nicholas Carey didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Crescent City trailing 2-1, Carey retired Kyung-ryul Ko to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Carey, with a wink.
