Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for 84s
|
Hollywood got a terrific performance from pitcher Teika Fukuda, but it wasn't enough to beat the Greenville 84s. Greenville won the 84s Field contest, 5-2. Fukuda threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Sixto Bustamante earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2.2 innings. His record is now 6-4. Liam Bane earned the save for Greenville, his 4th.
Greenville took a 4-2 lead on Keaton Kringlen's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Kringlen hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Hollywood pitcher Tom DeHart shaking his head.
In postgame comments to the Greenville Times, Kringlen said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The 84s, at 61-38, have now won 4 straight.
