Whales Lose to Thunder Hawks in Walk Off
Jesús Fernández did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Virginia Beach Whales from losing, 9-8, to the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. Fernández hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. The Thunder Hawks now have a record of 29-39 with the win over Virginia Beach.

Ernesto García was the walk-off hero for Ft. Polk South. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Thunder Hawks pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"This place went bonkers at the end," García said.
