Parker, Whales Get 3-1 Win
|
The Virginia Beach Whales picked up a win at Virginia Beach Grounds, taking down the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, 3-1. Starting pitcher John Parker was a big reason why. With the win, Virginia Beach upped its record to 35-29.
Parker, the winner, is now 5-4 after putting the clamps on the Nuevo Mexico offense. In 8 innings of work, he gave up 1 run on 3 hits, while collecting 6 Ks.
"Tough loss," said Nuevo Mexico manager Kyle Bass. "But we'll learn from it."
