Despite a great performance by Gwinnett catcher Daniel Woods, the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks defeated the Guinea Pigs by the score of 4-3 at Experimental Stadium. Woods was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Ft. Polk South reliever Bob Archer was the winner. His record is now 5-0. The losing pitcher was José Marquis. Valentín Jiménez locked down his 5th save.

Tynan Taylor, the 25-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Taylor contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Ft. Polk South up, 4-0.

"It feels good to get this one," Taylor told the Ft. Polk South Daily News.

The Thunder Hawks, at 27-37, have now won 4 straight.
