Gwinnett Gets 7-1 Win
|
Gwinnett left fielder Shan Gui helped his team beat the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, 7-1. Gui, who is rated as the 50th best prospect by BNN, went 3 for 4 for the Guinea Pigs. Randy Woodruff picked up the win with 6.2 innings of work. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 6-2. With the win, Gwinnett goes to 35-21, while the Mariachis fall to 23-33.
Gwinnett used the clutch hitting of Dave Kramer to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Guinea Pigs the lead, 7-1. For the game, Kramer had 2 singles and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"The guys seem happy with the win. That's good, I guess," said Gui.
