Turbeaus Upend Fighting Imps, 5-1

Gulf Coast took on Ithaca in front of a lively crowd.
The Ithaca Fighting Imps got a sterling performance from pitcher Bill Strain, but the Gulf Coast Turbeaus still prevailed, 5-1. Strain threw 6.1 innings allowing 5 runs. Gulf Coast reliever Alejandro Rodríguez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Bill Strain shouldered the loss.
Gulf Coast relied on the hitting of Mattia Binotto to pick up the win. The left fielder ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Turbeaus on top, 2-1. For the game, Binotto had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Gulf Coast manager León Domínguez.
With the win, Gulf Coast goes to 27-21, while the Fighting Imps fall to 30-18.
